Imagine this: You walk into a clinic for medical help, only to find the staff are untrained volunteers determined to talk you out of getting the treatment you need.
It sounds absurd, but that’s exactly what’s happening at so-called “crisis pregnancy centers.” Disguised as legitimate medical facilities, they block women’s access to comprehensive reproductive health care and spread misleading information to pressure women away from abortion.
Too often, women have been lied to before they even walk through the door, and it starts when clinics falsely advertise that they provide abortion services.
That’s why I introduced the Stop Deceptive Advertising for Women’s Services Act, which would block crisis pregnancy centers from falsely advertising that they offer abortion services. Will you stand with me today and urge Congress to pass this important legislation?
