HERE'S TO A MEANINGFUL EID AL-ADHA!

Friends,

Tomorrow, Muslims around the world commemorate Abraham's willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for his faith in God, and mark the end of the holy days of Hajj. Eid al-Adha is a day of reflection, charity, and giving thanks.

On Eid, Muslims help those suffering from hunger, sickness, and other misfortunes, regardless of their faith. This generosity of spirit represents the best of New York City and we honor their contributions.

For the first time in our City's history, public schools will be closed in recognition of this important celebration. I wish all who are observing a blessed holiday!

Sincerely,

Letitia James
