KEITH WANTS SENTENCING REFORM

Lucas, it is long past time for serious changes to come to our justice system. For too long rigid sentencing guidelines have torn up our communities and prevented people from getting the second chance they deserve. Help make change happen.

Keith Wright has been working on justice reform in Albany and he’s ready to bring his experienced leadership on the issue to Washington. In the Assembly he fought against the draconian Rockefeller Drug Laws, working to untie the hands of judges and and reduce the discriminatory sentences faced by people of color. His leadership successfully brought about major sentencing reforms in New York. Now it's time to lead on this issue in Congress.

Washington needs strong representatives to support legislation like the Sentencing Reform Act. This will bring about meaningful change that ensures mandatory minimum sentences will only be for the most serious offenders. Judges will be allowed great discretion and non-violent drug offenders can see more just consequences.

It's time to move the conversation about racial profiling and violence against people of color to the floor of Congress. Keith created the first anti-racial profiling law in New York and was the leader behind the creation of a special prosecutor to investigate the killing of unarmed individuals by law enforcement. He will continue to speak out on these issues as our voice in D.C, protecting our communities and allowing all individuals the dignity of fair treatment by the law.

Show your support today to help get sentencing reform made into law.
