Dear Lucas,
I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.
This year especially, with so much going on in the world, it’s important to give thanks for the joys in our life. I’m so thankful that I’m able to spend the holiday with my wife and my two children, that we’re all happy and healthy, and that I’m able to continue serve the great people of San Diego.
Thanksgiving also is a time to reflect on the year that’s passed. I’m so thankful that this year, the Supreme Court took historic stands for marriage equality and affordable access to health care, and that the President has taken steps to reduce the negative impacts of climate change. It’s a true testament to our hard work and perseverance.
So Lucas, from my family to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
