CAROLYN WANTS TO CONTROL GUNS

Lucas,

This year alone, there have been more than 300 mass shootings in America.

Not all of these made the news. But each one left behind shattered communities, devastated families and costs that linger long after the victims have been buried.

In the face of this epidemic of violence, Congress isn’t doing its job. We continue to sit on our hands while dangerous criminals legally purchase deadly weapons without so much as showing an ID.

This has to change. And it has to change before the next Newtown or Roseburg. I’m calling on my colleagues in Congress to pass commonsense restrictions on gun sales, but I need you to stand with me.

Add your name: Demand Congress take action against gun violence!

A few extremists would have us believe that there’s nothing we can do to stop the epidemic of violence that’s terrorizing our communities. That’s just not true.

There are sensible steps we can take to stop the bloodshed and make our streets and schools safer – and a majority of Americans support them.

I’ve introduced five gun safety bills this year to crack down on gun trafficking, expand background checks, conduct public health research to reduce gun violence, require liability insurance for gun owners and encourage the use of smart gun technology to save lives.

But Congress will only take action if we all speak out together and demand it.

I’m not backing down from this fight, and I know you aren’t, either. Add your name to demand Congress pass reasonable restrictions on gun sales!

Thank you for standing with me.

Carolyn
