Thirty years ago, a scrappy political group committed to electing pro-choice
Democratic women was born.
One year later, they helped me become the first Democratic woman elected
to the Senate in her own right. Since then, EMILY's List has proven
that women are a political force to be reckoned with.
Thirty years of progress deserves to be celebrated. Which is why I'm joining EMILY's List for their 30th Anniversary
Gala in D.C. next month.

I was the first woman EMILY's List elected, but I was far from the
last. EMILY's List has elected 18 more women to the Senate since helping
me win. And when new women join me in the Senate, I've worked to make

committees, and welcomed them to the group of women who get things done
in Congress — all so we can ignite change.
