The effects of climate change are all around us. From record high summer temperatures, to rising sea levels, to devastating storms—we’re dealing with it already.
Failure to act on these events is harmful to our health, our economy, and our national security. Yet the GOP is content to bury their heads in the sand, rather than pass policies that act on climate.

We must be aggressive in targeting the harmful effects of climate change. From the increasing rates of asthma to economic damages from superstorms, it’s clear to you and me that we must act.
I joined with local leaders in Maryland today to demonstrate how great this need is. But we need meaningful action from Congress so we can keep our children and families healthy.
