It appears some of my colleagues in the U.S. Senate would rather vote on
handing out more of your hard-earned dollars to their cronies than stop
them from flowing to Planned Parenthood.
I guess they agree with the national media that the American people should just get over the recent news that Planned Parenthood is routinely aborting babies, dismembering them and selling off their body parts for profit.
I'm not about to let them get away with it. But I must be able to count on your IMMEDIATE action.
You see, this morning I received news that my amendment to next week's highway bill to stop all taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood would NOT be voted on.
Instead, some of my colleagues would rather vote on the Export-Import Bank -- one of the biggest drivers of corruption and cronyism in Washington, D.C. -- and sweep my amendment under the rug.
As far as I'm concerned, this is flat-out unacceptable. And I'm not going to stand for it.
Instead, I'm prepared to use every Senate rule at my disposal to force my colleagues on record whether they like it or not.
Under Senate rules, if enough Senators are willing to stand with me and sign a petition demanding a vote, there will be no stopping you and me.
So won't you please call your U.S. Senators and insist they "Stand with Rand," and then chip in a contribution of $20.16 to help me generate pressure on my colleagues to sign my petition demanding a vote on defunding Planned Parenthood?
The very thought of our U.S. Government handing out $500 million of our hard-earned tax dollars to Planned Parenthood every year infuriates me.
Planned Parenthood deserves our scorn. Not our tax dollars.
Like most Americans, my jaw hit the floor when I saw the undercover video footage of Planned Parenthood's chief abortionist explaining how they harvest aborted babies' organs and sell them for profit.
One video even showed Planned Parenthood officials squabbling over the price of aborted baby parts because one official joked she wanted to buy a Lamborghini.
The more I learn about Planned Parenthood's racket, aborting unborn children and then selling off their organs, the more my head spins.
I'm not about to let Planned Parenthood off the hook. And I'm not about to let politicians and our media sweep this scandal under the rug.
But I'm counting on you to make sure your Senators stand with me.
