Our friends at Planned Parenthood are under attack.
Anti-choice activists have released two deceptively edited videos to try and smear Planned Parenthood. And they're promising more. The videos appear to show Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of fetal tissue — but that's only because they edited out the 10 instances where those same officials state explicitly they do no such thing.
You'd think that would be the end of it. But now anti-choice Republicans are using these videos to push for a vote to defund Planned Parenthood.
That's right, apparently forgetting how poorly it went for them the last time they tried to defund Planned Parenthood, Republicans are trying to do it again. Based entirely on a lie.
Millions of women (and men!) rely on Planned Parenthood for everything from sex education to birth control to lifesaving cancer screenings. But they could lose that care if Republicans have their way.
We need to show anti-choice Republicans that they will face a wave of opposition if they continue down this path. Add your name to stand with Planned Parenthood today.
This latest anti-choice campaign is part of a much bigger pattern of harassment and intimidation directed at Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.
The man behind these videos has been part of 10 anti-choice attack campaigns in the last eight years and has been widely discredited. Another person involved has been connected to abortion clinic bombings and the murder of Doctor Tiller, a Kansas doctor who provided abortions.
The real purpose of these videos is simple: ban abortion and cut women off from care at Planned Parenthood.
We've seen attacks against clinics and organizations that protect choice going back decades, and as always, we need to stand firmly together and fight back.
