Every five years on the anniversary of the end of World War II, the Times Square Alliance holds a Times Square Kiss-In where hundreds of people re-enact the legendary lip-lock between a U.S. sailor and nurse, captured forever on the cover of LIFE Magazine.
The famous victory kiss occurred on August 14, 1945 on Military Island, at the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets.
