My name is Ambassador Suzan Johnson Cook, and I'm proud to announce that I'm running for Congress in New York's 13th Congressional District, which includes Harlem, the Bronx, Inwood and Washington Heights.
For those of you who don’t know me, I was policy advisor to President Clinton and the first African-American and the first woman to hold the diplomatic post of Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom representing President Obama and former Secretary Clinton. I am also a minister and a published author.
I am a lifelong resident of Harlem and the Bronx and I am from a working class family, so I understand our community still faces challenges big and small. We need solutions to the rising costs of living. We need leaders who understand that too many of our young people aren't sure that there's a better future ahead of them. We need people in power who will take on challenges rather than turning their backs.
I would like talk to you personally about my race, but first I would like introduce myself with my launch video.
