Riverwalk Tribute

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale will honor Kelley Shanley for his role in the growth and development of Riverwalk Park and Downtown Fort Lauderdale at the Riverwalk Annual Tribute on April 23, 2015. Both directly and indirectly, Kelley Shanley has significantly contributed to the Riverwalk’s activation and enhancement through his immeasurable support as a past chair of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and through his initiatives with the Performing Arts Center Authority, which have enriched our community culturally and aesthetically. Driving the revamping of the Broward Center for Performing Arts’ campus and program has undoubtedly positively impacted the Riverwalk Park beautifying the walk and enchanting its pedestrians. Genia Duncan Ellis, President and CEO of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, shared, “ The stewardship of Kelley Shanley in enhancing the recognition of the Broward Center for its arts, entertainment, and educational opportunities has put Fort Lauderdale at the forefront of the industry.”

Kelley Shanley has been with the Broward Center for 15 years, serving as the President and CEO since 2009. His several accomplishments include the undertaking and execution of the ENCORE! Building Community through the Arts project, the management of venues like Parker Playhouse, The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at NSU, and the generation of tourist activity in the Riverwalk District. His accolades extend beyond his support of the community and the arts, to his family to whom he is a loyal husband and a loving father. We are delighted to be honoring Kelley Shanley with this esteemed distinction.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with honored guests, sponsors and special ticket holders gathering for a VIP cocktail reception. Following the VIP reception, cocktails and hors d’eouvres will be served and a special presentation will be held along with live entertainment, silent auction, raffles and prizes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the event will assist the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale in its mission to promote, enhance, activate and beautify the Riverwalk community and Downtown. The cost for the event is $150 each for individuals ($200 with VIP reception). The cost for Riverwalk members is $125 each ($175 with VIP reception). The evening will feature live entertainment, silent auction, raffles and prizes.
