LANDRIEU'S A ROBBER

Gov. Jindal: Mary Landrieu Robbed Medicare To Pay For Medicaid

Tuesay, Governor Bobby Jindal blasted Senator Landrieu and President Clinton for threatening the future of Medicare and supporting a plan to cut benefits for seniors.

Governor Jindal said, “Nearly 20 years ago, President Clinton had a chance to save Medicare, but he didn’t have the courage to act when he had the opportunity. Instead, President Clinton ignored real solutions and kicked the can down the road.

“Senator Landrieu out did President Clinton when she voted to steal $700 billion from Medicare and create a new entitlement program called Obamacare. Mary Landrieu robbed Medicare to pay for Medicaid.

“Senator Landrieu and President Clinton support the ostrich plan for saving Medicare – stick your head in the sand and pretend Medicare is not going bankrupt. Make no mistake – those who have no plan are in favor of letting Medicare go broke and letting our elderly citizens lose Medicare benefits.

“Senator Landrieu and President Clinton are a match made in heaven when it comes to threatening Medicare for seniors. The truth is that President Clinton and Senator Landrieu care more about Medicaid than Medicare.”

In voting for Obamacare, Senator Landrieu supported cutting Medicare by $700 billion to create a new entitlement program. In 1997, while Bill Clinton was President, Governor Jindal served as Executive Director of the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare. The commission recommended a number of solutions, but President Clinton failed to support the recommendations.
