Patriots,
Election season is finally here -- people are tuning into news sources
other than TMZ; opinion polls are tightening; and your television is likely
infected with attack ads. While you may have your mind made up about the
candidates you’ll vote for, there is still plenty of work to be
done in this election. No matter where you live, there are five things
you should consider doing to get ready for the 2014 General Election.
- Make sure you and your family are registered to vote.
- Tell your county/local official you want to become a poll worker. A number of state websites offer detailed, official guidelines for getting involved. Those states include: AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, DE, GA, HI, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, VT, WV, WI, WY. If your state is not listed, check your local county/parish website for specific details.
- Get trained to become a poll watcher today. Click here to become a Poll Watcher.
- Get voter-ID ready. Check the TTV map on our Resources page to find your local requirements.
- Check for early voting availability in your state. Check out this website for a breakdown of the law in your neck of the woods.
