Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Thanksgiving is a time to take a moment with our families, friends and loved ones to appreciate the many blessings in our lives. As we give thanks for all the good, may we be sure to keep those who are less fortunate in our hearts and actions. For the business owner who works around the clock to support her entire family abroad, for the elder who is alone and homebound, for the neighbor whose home is filled daily with fear and unease, may we extend greater kindness, patience and goodness into their lives.
Our neighborhoods here in The World's Borough are home to families that hail from over 120 countries and 2.3 million residents who speak over 135 languages. Yet even with all the culinary varieties and retail diversity in this great borough we call home, we're reminded every day that people, at our core, have that much more in common than different: our resilience, our perseverance, and, above all else, our hopes and dreams for the best future for our children.
