I've lived in the same apartment in the Bronx for more than 10 years. My 7-year-old daughter, Emiliana, has lived here her whole life. For as long as we can remember, there was always a leak in our bathroom. In August of last year, the gas was turned off in our building, and it stayed off for almost a year.
Year after year, the building owners refused to make basic repairs. Finally my neighbors and I decided to organize, and we filed complaints with the Attorney General's office. Within a few months of Eric Schneiderman getting involved, he was able to force the owners to hire a new management company to make repairs.
Eric Schneiderman has stood up for tenants all over the state. I hope you'll join me in standing with Eric on November 4th.
