On Monday, May 5^th, 2014, the New York City Rent Guidelines Board approved the following Preliminary Rent Guidelines for apartments and lofts for leases commencing between Oct 1^st, 2014 and September 30^th, 2015:

For a one-year lease, a range between 0% and 3%.

For a two-year lease, a range between0.5% and 4.5%.

A sublet allowance between 0% and 10% and a Special Guideline for decontrolled apartments equal to MBR +30% or the HUD FMR whichever is greater.

There is a 0% increase for all classes of hotels, rooming houses and SRO 's.

The final vote on this year's Rent Guidelines will be held on Monday, June 23^rd. Owners are encouraged to testify at Public Hearings, which will be held in all boroughs except Staten Island. For the first time ever, the Rent Guidelines Board is considering a zero rent increase and there has never been a more vital time for owner involvement. Hundreds of tenants have been rallying throughout this year's Rent Guidelines process and the time is NOW for owners to join us as we fight to make sure that a zero rent guideline is not approved.
