The right-wing Super PACs have been on the air with dishonest attack ads in Michigan for weeks now trashing Gary Peters and Democrats.
I don't agree with anything they're saying, but I do agree with them on this: Michigan's Senate and Congressional races are likely to decide which party has control in Congress next year.
We have one of the most important races for Governor.
We have one of the most important races for U.S. Senator.
And very recently, the Democratic Congressional campaign committee listed two of Michigan's Congressional candidates – Jerry Cannon and Pam Byrnes – among their very top pick-up opportunities in November.

Gary Peters took on the powerful Koch brothers, out-of-state billionaires whose oil company was polluting Michigan neighborhoods. Now, the Koch brothers are spending millions of dollars out of their own pocket to defeat Gary in November. Gary just put up TV ads to tell his story, but he needs our help right now so he has the resources to continue responding to the Koch brothers' negative ads.
Major General Jerry Cannon will be a strong champion for Michigan's First Congressional District, which covers all of the beautiful UP and a large part of the northern Lower Peninsula. He will bring the leadership that the families of Northern Michigan and the UP expect.
Pam Byrnes spent a good part of her career helping women and children escape from abusive homes and get back on their feet. As a state legislator, she built a reputation as a trusted problem-solver – someone who knew how to get results for Michigan families. She will be a forceful advocate for working families in the U.S. Congress.
