Those New Yorkers of a certain age have fond memories of Moondog -- the blind "Viking" who used to post himself at 54th and 6th and sell his poetry to passersby.
Little did most know that Moondog was also an accomplished modern composer and poet. He jammed with Ornette Coleman, composed with Philip Glass and performed with people as diverse as Marlon Brando, Tiny Tim and Kylie Minogue. Yes, that's right, Kylie Minogue.
Dog Days Films, an independent production company, is in the process of running a Kickstarter campaign to bankroll a movie about this New York original. Check out their promo and support this project to preserve a unique piece of New York lore.
