Joni Ernst is running for the US Senate in Iowa and has served a combined 21 years in the United States Army Reserves and the Iowa Army National Guard. She spent 14 months mobilized and overseas in Kuwait from 2003-2004 as a company commander at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Will Hurd served for almost a decade as an undercover officer at the Central Intelligence Agency.
Barry Loudermilk served in the United States Air Force from 1984 until 1992 during the 1986 Philippine Crisis, the 1986 Air Raid on Libya, Operation Just Cause in Panama, Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
Ryan Zinke began his distinguished military career in 1985, spent six years serving on SEAL Team SIX and led a force of over 3,500 Special Operations personnel in Iraq.
Lee Zeldin deployed to Iraq in 2006, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserves and was elected to New York State Senate two years later.
