CELEBRATING THE WORLD'S FAIR

BOROUGH OF QUEENS

Dear Lucas,

Tuesday, April 22nd marked the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the 1964 World's Fair hosted in Queens. Thousands of residents, tourists, and fellow elected officials celebrated this milestone at the New York State Pavilion, which was open to the public for the first time in many years. It was a tremendous event that brought many back to their younger years and provided fun history for newer generations.

If you weren't able to join us, you can read more about the event here and here.

Mark your calendars for May 18th, where we will be celebrating both the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 World's Fair and 75th Anniversary of the 1939 World's Fair hosted in Queens. The event will be a tribute to the past, as well as an opportunity to share in all that our borough, the World's Borough, hosts presently.

I look forward to you joining me Sunday, May 18th!

Sincerely,

Melinda Katz
President
Borough of Queens
