WANT A FREE HOME MAKEOVER?

Servpro of North Fork filed suit claiming breach of contract and conversion when Nicole Corrado refused to pay for some renovation and repair work performed on her home.

After the Suffolk County Supreme Court granted the lady's request to dismiss the case--because Servpro wasn't licensed to do home improvements in her area--the company appealed to the Appellate Division, Second Department, which agreed that an unlicensed contractor is barred from suing for relief, even if a homeowner has benefited from that company's labor.

That fixed that.
