The last month has shown what is holding this country back: the House Republican majority.
If women made up 51 percent of Congress, they would not be talking about birth control or grandstanding by trying to repeal health care reform.
It's no surprise, then, that the latest round of PPP polls found 49 House Republicans vulnerable to defeat – that is nearly three times the 17 seats we need to take back the majority.
We need to seize this opportunity by preparing to support strong women candidates eyeing these races. Any woman Democrat who announces will immediately face attacks from Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and Tea Party Super PACs.
They cannot be left to face them alone.
Right now, we need $45,000 by midnight tonight to immediately help women candidates hit the ground running. Join me in fighting to take back the House.
We need a Congress willing to focus on policies that will move women and families forward, like those in my Opportunity Plan: affordable child care, universal pre-K, a living wage, equal pay.
That means electing strong women partners to regain control of the House and get back to working for the American people.
Off The Sidelines raised over $1 million for women candidates last cycle. With Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and Tea Party Super PACs determined to preserve their power, we will need to send even more out to help strong women win tough races so we can take back the House.
We can do it. Together. Will you help with a contribution now?
Let's do this.
