RETAIL UNION GOES KATZ

Melinda Katz 2013

Dear Friends,

I'm so pleased to announce yet another critical endorsement in my race to become the next Borough President of Queens. RWDSU, the retail union that represents thousands of retail, wholesale and department store employees across the borough, backed my candidacy earlier today. The ability of working families, like those represented by the RWDSU, to live and raise a family in New York City is one of the most pressing issues we face. I'm thrilled to have them as a partner in this race, and look forward to working for them as Borough President.

"Melinda Katz has proven she is the person for the job of Queens Borough President," said union president Stuart Appelbaum. "Melinda has fought for New York City's working people – from taking a stand against Wal-Mart in Rego Park to supporting living wages. She has represented working people well, both as an Assemblywoman and as a leading member of the New York City Council."

We're entering a critical point in the campaign. This Tuesday, June 4th, is the start of the petitioning process across the city and I need your help! We need to collect signatures from Democrats from across Queens in order to get my name on the ballot for the Sept. 10th Primary.

We will be distributing petitions and holding trainings this Monday, June 3rd from 5:30-7:30PM at the Katz Campaign Office; 116-16 Queens Blvd. Ste 255 in Forest Hills.

I hope that you'll get involved now and help with this effort. If you can't stop by the office on Monday, sign up here or call the campaign at (347) 494-0492 to volunteer.

Best,

Melinda Katz 2013
