WIRED?

Jelena Petrov quit her job after her boss supposedly wrapped a "wire or strap" around her neck in front of two coworkers. When she later applied for unemployment benefits, Petrov claimed that she suffered "fear and emotional distress" as a result of the incident.

While the Department of Labor was of the view that she couldn't get any money because she quit "without good cause," the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board concluded otherwise.

And on further appeal, the Appellate Division, Third Department, deferred to the Board's determination that the woman was entitled to relief. (It thought that the Appeal Board's determination was supported by "substantial evidence.")

Better to go strapless.
