HOUSING COURT HITS 40

New York City's Housing Court at 40: Controversies, Challenges, and Prospects for its Future

Monday, March 11, 2013 8:30 am-7:00 pm

The Association of Housing Court Judges, The Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy at NYU, and the New York City Bar Association are holding a conference to commemorate and reflect on the Housing Court as it reaches its fortieth year. The conference seeks to foster discussion, debate and analysis of the legal issues, social impact, and economic realities that underlie the cases that come before Housing Court judges. Conference panels will look at the Court's history and challenges, and will discuss prospects and recommendations for its future. Panelists will include prominent and experienced attorneys, judges, and academics, and will be drawn from both the tenant and landlord bars, government, and advocacy organizations.
