NOW THAT'S THE SPIRIT

email_header 2

Dear Friend,

Today, we remember Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., and the enduring contributions he made to our state, country, and society. Every day, we honor his legacy of putting differences aside to find the commonality we all share.

This past weekend, the Governor joined other elected officials to celebrate Dr. King's legacy at an event in Harlem.

"Dr. King talked about the interconnection and the interrelationship of people. And his point was that we are all in this together," Governor Cuomo said during his remarks. "When one of us is raised, we are all raised. And when one of us is lowered, we are all lowered. And that's Dr. King's sense of community — where I want you to do well because we are all connected, and I want to invest in you and educate you and help you, because you are part of the same community."

It is this sense of community that continues to guide our work in New York State. We have proven that together, we can make government work for all New Yorkers.

Sincerely,

The Andrew Cuomo Committee
