de BLASIO WINS

Lucas --

Check out the results from our survey last week on the Mayor's race. Then, take part in this week's #TeamYetta Neighborhood Survey on street vending in NYC.

Thanks to all who took our survey on the Mayor's race. Here's what we found:

55% of our respondents say affordable housing is the most important issue. Only about 16% thought education and access to healthcare was the most important, with mass transit getting 9% of the vote.

Many of the respondents wanted to ask the Mayoral candidates how they will work to preserve the middle class in NYC, as well how the Mayoral candidates will control the real estate industry. Some of the respondents were very precise, asking how the candidates would incentivize landlords and businesses to opt for renewable sources of energy. Another respondent asked to repeal the 1926 Cabaret Law.

Finally, to the question of who should be our next Mayor, our completely unscientific poll from the 3rd City Council District found that Bill deBlasio captured just over 54% of the vote. Christine Quinn came in second place with 20%, Bill Thompson in third place with 9%, and John Liu with 8%. Other candidates received 5% or less. An interesting anecdotal note, John Catsimatidis got two to one votes over Sal Albanese in our progressive 3rd City Council District.

Thank you to all who participated and please take a moment to #jointheconversation by taking this week's #TeamYetta Neighborhood Survey. The topic? Street vending in NYC
