A MIND ON DRUGS?

While Jorge V. was under arrest for supposedly engaging in a drug transaction, his two minor children (9- and 10-years of age) were left alone for the entire time he was in police custody. (Apparently, while Jorge was being detained, his kids locked themselves out of their apartment and were forced to go a "stranger" for assistance.)

After the Bronx County Family Court found Jorge guilty of neglect, he appealed. And because it thought the youngsters had been in "imminent danger of physical or mental impairment"—even though they didn't suffer any actual injury or harm—the Appellate Division, First Department, affirmed the outcome.

No neglecting that.
