The Close to Home Initiative and its Effects on New York City's Juvenile Justice System

Join NYCLA's Family Court and Child Welfare Committee for this annual lecture featuring high-profile speakers who will discuss the Close to Home Initiative, which was enacted by Governor Cuomo earlier this year to reserve secure detention facilities for youth who have committed the most serious offenses and to allow for most youth involved in the juvenile justice system to receive services and/or limited secure and non-secure placements near their own community.
