As you know, yesterday we saw a number of competitive and important Congressional primaries here in New York. Congratulations to all of the winners- I look forward to working with them to earn even greater victories in November's elections.
The cliché comes up every four years, but this year's elections truly reflect our nation at a crossroads. 2012 is a historic opportunity to say "Not this year" to the radical right and extremist Tea Party members. This is an important election - and we need to do everything we can to re-elect President Barack Obama.
However, re-electing President Obama isn't enough. The past two years of Tea Party obstructionism in Congress has proved that we need a Democratic Congress in order to pass common-sense bills that benefit every American.
