Committee on Diversity and Inclusion

2012 Diversity Trailblazer Award  
This award is given annually to New York attorneys whose exceptional efforts have advanced the full and equal participation of minorities at all levels of the legal profession.

Committee on Women in the Law

2011 Ruth G. Schapiro Memorial Award  
Established in 1992 in memory of the first Chair of the Committee on Women in the Law, this award recognizes the noteworthy contributions of a NYSBA member in addressing the concerns of women.
Deadline: October 7, 2011

2012 Kay Crawford Murray Award  
Established in 2008, this award honors a female or male member of the Bar who recognizes the value of diversity in the legal profession and who has dedicated her or his time to advancing the professional development of women attorneys.
Deadline: October 7, 2011

The Committee on Attorney Professionalism

Professionalism Award
The award shines a light on practicing attorneys who "toil in the vineyard" and are especially valued by their clients and colleagues.
Deadline: November 11

New York State Conference of Bar Leaders

2011 Bar Leaders Innovation Awards
The Awards are given annually to city, county, ethnic, minority, special purpose, specialty and women's bar associations in New York State that introduce new programs, ideas and methodologies which benefit not only their members but the community at large.
Deadline: November 18, 2011

Committee on Civil Rights

2012 Haywood Burns Award
The award is given annually to an individual whose contributions to New York reflect Dean W. Haywood Burns' commitment to the struggle for equality and justice, while recognizing the unique qualities that made Burns an outstanding advocate for civil rights and the empowerment of the powerless.
