BYE, BARNEY!

dccc_logo_nyreblog_com_.jpgLucas --

Yesterday, Barney Frank announced his retirement after spending over three decades representing the people of Massachusetts in Congress.

Congressman Frank has been a champion for American families and as the country moved forward it has been Barney Frank leading the way.

He is more than a Congressman -- he is a voice for the voiceless, a leader for our Caucus, and a lion of the House.

Congress simply will not be the same without him.

But if Republicans have their way, the critical reforms that Chairman Frank put in place to end the days of Wall Street bailouts could also be retired.

We can't let that happen -- we must recapture the Majority in November. But, first we must raise $63,151 more by tomorrow night's FEC deadline to keep pace with the Republicans.

24 HOURS TO GO: Contribute $3 right now to help us take the fight to Tea Party Republicans. Give today and you can add your personal message which we'll send directly to Congressman Frank.

Barney Frank was an extraordinary leader in the fight to end our financial crisis. He authored the most sweeping reforms of Wall Street since the Great Depression, reforms that House Republicans are desperately trying to dismantle.

House Democrats are committed to electing people who will protect main street - who will protect small businesses and middle class taxpayers. That's why it's critical we keep seats like Barney Frank's in the Democratic column.

Contribute $3 to the DCCC today to make sure we protect seats like Barney Frank's from Republican attacks.

Thanks,

Rep. Steve Israel
DCCC Chairman
