There's little over a month left before Election Day, but according to the Associated Press New Yorkers still aren't paying close attention to the most important race in the state: the battle to control the State Senate.
The GOP controlled the State Senate for 44 years. In that time they doubled state spending, raised our taxes, and corrupted the Democratic process by gerrymandering legislative districts to maintain their power.
Now Senate Republicans are aligning themselves with extremists like Carl Paladino in a bid to retake the legislature and turn back the clock on reform. New Yorkers need to understand what's at stake this year before they go to the polls.
