Last week Lori wrote to you about our opponent Dennis Ross and his connection to Rep. Joe Barton, the Congressman who infamously apologized to BP for successful attempts to make the company pay for the oil spill. Barton has given $2,000 of his dirty money to our opponent, and our campaign has called on Dennis Ross to refund those dirty contributions, denounce Joe Barton, and explain his continued support for drilling near Florida's beaches.
Over the weekend, his campaign finally responded. Unfortunately, they told the Tampa Tribune he would keep the money and refused to denounce Joe Barton or explain his support for offshore drilling. His silence is deafening: Dennis Ross is siding with big oil and Joe Barton over the people who have been most affected by this environmental disaster. Don't let big oil elect another representative.

Big oil and Joe Barton would love to have another representative in Congress. But, at a time when the oil spill is costing Florida jobs, weakening its economy, and destroying its beaches, we cannot afford to let them have another vote for the oil interests.
