An exchange of views among arbitrators, counsel for claimants and counsel for respondents

Although the program has no fixed agenda, Ms. Bayer and Ms. Glasgow will discuss recent initiatives, including: new rules requiring explained decisions, one-arbitrator panels for cases up to $100,000, panel-composition rules for industry disputes involving associated persons, expedited procedures for arbitration of promissory note cases; proposed rules regarding the expansion of criteria for selecting a hearing location, the clarification of date of filing of an arbitration once a deficiency is corrected; the first-year experience with the new motion to dismiss, eligibility and expungement rules; and pilot updates regarding the discovery arbitrator and the all-public arbitration panel. As usual, Ms. Bayer and Ms. Glasgow will field questions from the audience.
