TIMES GOES FOR de BLASIO

de_blasio_banner_nyreblog_com_.jpgDear Lucas,

I am proud to announce that today the New York Times endorsed Bill de Blasio for Public Advocate.  This is a game changing development that brings unparalleled momentum to our campaign.  Bill's record of standing up for public school parents and people in need and his vision to make City government more responsive and accountable to all New Yorkers make him the best choice for Public Advocate.

As we celebrate this incredible victory, we need your help to make the next 17 days until the primary as significant as today.  Monday is our next crucial filing deadline, and your contribution of $20, $50, $100 or $175 will help us continue the momentum every day until September 15.

The Times endorsed Bill because "he has shown that he can work well with Mayor Bloomberg when it makes sense to do so while vehemently and eloquently opposing him when justified."

They praised his impressive record in the City Council, saying Bill "has focused on helping many less-fortunate New Yorkers with food stamps, housing and children's health. He has labored successfully for better schools and an improved quality of life for New Yorkers."

As always, thank you for incredible support.  Your continued dedication will make the difference on primary day.
