Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

The Young Professionals
About the Young Professionals
The New York City Young Professionals (YPs) is group of energetic, passionate and talented individuals (age 21-40) that live and work in the tri-state area. The YPs volunteer their time and talent to help the American Heart Association fight childhood obesity, help prevent strokes, support research and increase awareness that heart disease is the leading killer of men and women.

Heart disease and stroke account for more than 36% of all deaths or 1 out of 2.7 deaths in the United States. Nearly 2,400 Americans will die of cardiovascular disease each day, an average of 1 every 36 seconds. The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association aim to reduce heart disease and stroke risk by 25 percent by 2010 to save thousands of lives. Our strategy to attain this goal is to deliver a series of comprehensive campaigns that reach those at highest risk. Your participation in this event can help us reach goal and save lives.

There are over 80 active members in the New York City community and more than 700 young professionals are in the local database for events and promotions.  Each year the Young Professionals host 2 to 3 fundraisers with up to 300 guests.

Members are from a variety of industries including publishing, finance, legal, entertainment, public relations and medical.  They are the up-and-comers at their companies and are in touch with the current trends.

Mingling at a YP event
YP Meetings are held the first Monday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the American Heart Association office, located at 122 East 42 Street, 18th Floor.
