DEVILISH HARASSMENT

j0321195.jpgAfter Alexander Chandler was convicted by a New York City Criminal Court judge of three counts of stalking in the fourth degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree and two counts of harassment in the second degree, he appealed the to Appellate Term, First Department, arguing the evidence didn't justify the outcome.

On its review, the AT1 found "ample evidence" Chandler put his victims in "reasonable fear."

Chandler repeatedly called his male victim "the devil" and threatened to kill him and a female victim. Chandler also sent a letter to the latter noting "the devil [was] not going to win" and that he would "let God treat [her] with severity."

While there was no testimony this conduct "actually annoyed or alarmed" anyone, the AT1 was of the opinion the trial court reasonably concluded that it did.

Guess the devil wasn't in the details.
