On Wednesday, November 28, 2007, the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce (GVCCC) will be bestowing "Cop of the Year" awards on officers from the 6th , 9th , 10th and 13th Precincts.*
What we found particularly fascinating was the GVCCC 's choice of venue for the event: the "storied" Tiro A Segno , a private "rifle society" located "in the heart of Greenwich Village."
Ironically, the club -- whose name means "Hit the Target" or "Fire at the Target" in Italian -- offers three wood-paneled firing ranges in its basement, where guests have been known to take a few shots between courses.
Come support some of New York's Finest , and get a rare glimpse of an exclusive club whose members have included such notables as Fiorello H. LaGuardia , Enrico Caruso and Garibaldi .
Join us on November 28, 2007, between the hours of 12 noon and 2PM, at 77 MacDougal Street, in Manhattan. The admission fee is a modest $35 for GVCCC members, $45 for non-members.
Space is limited, so call 212-255-5811 today.
But PLEASE be prepared to check your firearms at the door!
