HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Believe it or not, today marks the end of our blog's first year. And, what a year it has been been.

We have examined hundreds of cases, quite a few political campaigns, and an array of federal and state laws (not to mention the occasional essay, commentary, and, coverage of a number of public forums and events).

In this brief timespan, we have been humbled by the exponential growth of our readership. We have seen the number of visitors jump from a humble 24, to a whopping 20,000. (Statistics which are unprecedented for a blog of this sort.) And, for that, we are most grateful.

Of course, one person could not accept full credit for this endeavor.

I owe a debt of gratitude to our student interns from New York Law School. Needless to say, their energy and drive (and astute research and analysis) have been indispensable to this blog's success. Since these aspiring lawyers have not previously received the recognition they so rightfully deserve, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge:

      • Andrea Altamirano
      • Alex Daigle
      • Shai Dayan
      • Michael Harkey
      • Jason Hirschel
      • Christine Kearney
      • Dana Agabiti Lane
      • Dorothy Santos
      • Thomas Saxey

My sincerest thanks to each and every one of them for a job well done and for helping to make this a banner year.

Of course, I must also give a special shout out to my partners Daniel Finkelstein, Jonathan H. Newman, and Robert Finkelstein, who have unequivocally supported this endeavor from the very beginning. Each has enjoyed the ride. (Thanks, guys!)

Finally, we would be lost without the patience, creative guidance, and technical support of our blog and website designers, Rustin Kretz, Travis Robertson, Jake R. Mackenzie, Brian M. Blades, and the rest of the crew at Scorpion Design . You will never meet a finer bunch of human beings. They're an amazingly talented bunch and we wholeheartedly endorse their products and services. If you are even thinking about starting a website or blog of your own, drop our friends at Scorpion Design  an e-mail or give them a call. (You'll be glad you did.)

In the coming months, you are certain to notice continuing changes and enhancements to our content and coverage. As always, we welcome your observations and insights as to how we may improve the site and make it more meaningful to you. Until then, here's to having fun with the law!

Onward!
