FOR THE BIRDS?

As we approach the holiday season, we thought we would share a nifty gift idea with you.
An architectural and design firm based in London, England, has released plans for a unique home which would surely make the ideal acquisition for the man or woman that has everything (and who also happens to be suffering from the "Peter Pan Syndrome").
The architects call it "Project 009." You can call it a "treehouse."
While it looks like a spaceship, and will do everything but fly, here's how the creators describe this elevated space:

The aim for this house is to develop a flexible planning arrangement and encourage a more organic approach to country living. Architecturally, the design evolves from the underside, to the interior and then outwards concentrating on views and aspects above the tree horizon. The 'belly' of the tree house accommodates undulating kinetic baffles that utilise wind power to generate electricity. The plan form also meanders to the extent that modular sections can be prefabricated so that the overall size can vary from a single bedroom house up to a five bedroom model. The prefabricated design can be installed on site within two weeks, is extremely lightweight, uses many recycled products, is part self-sustainable and low on maintenance.
The price tag? Just under two million bucks.
If you're truly interested in other ways to blow a few million dollars, why not give us a call? The Lucas A. Ferrara Foundation is now accepting donations.
