PAZ BE WITH YOU

peace_sign_hippy_nyreblog_com_.JPGConstruction worker Sofio Garcia Paz sued after he fell off of a scaffold situated on the City of New York's property.

Although he knew he was supposed to use a ladder to reach the elevated scaffold, Paz decided to climb up without one. Then, as he was securing his safety harness, he placed one foot on the scaffold and the other on a nearby ledge--which hadn't been designed or designated to support a worker's weight.

After the Bronx County Supreme Court dismissed his case, Paz appealed to the Appellate Division, First Department, which was of the view that the guy had ignored governing safety regulations and that the responsibility for his fall, fell on him alone.

Guess that wasn't his niche.
