ABORN IS LGBT FRIENDLY

aborn_da_banner_nyreblog_com_.jpg

Dear Lucas,

Last week, in an interview with Gay City News, Richard Aborn explained why the LGBT community needs a strong voice and direct representation in the District Attorney's office. As our next DA, Richard will continue his fight against gay profiling; build more partnerships with the LGBT community; advocate for the inclusion of gender identity and expression in hate crimes laws; and establish a specific Hate Crimes Unit to fully protect members of the LGBT community.

Richard has our support because when alleged profiling occurred in gay bookstores, he called upon the City's Commission on Human Rights to immediately investigate.  He has our support because he has always believed in marriage equality -- and marched against California Proposition 8 long before he began his campaign.

Richard has been fighting for the LGBT community throughout his career. And that's why some of his top supporters are Councilmember Rosie Mendez, the Gay and Lesbian Independent Democrats, and longtime gay activists like Ethan Geto. And last week, he received the endorsement of OutPOCPAC, a political club of LGBT people of color.

Help make Richard our next DA.  Please Click HERE to make a contribution.

On Monday, August 10 from 4:30 to 5:00 pm, please join us for a policy briefing with Richard via conference call, where we will discuss his plan for a 21st Century DA's office that works with LGBT communities across the city to protect civil rights and public safety.  Click HERE to RSVP.

Across Manhattan, progressives are lining up to endorse Richard.  Now he's asking for your endorsement.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Assemblymember Deborah J. Glick and Assemblymember Daniel J. O'Donnell

P.S. You're Invited!  Please join us on Monday, August 10th from 4:30 to 5:00 pm for a conference call on Richard's vision for LGBT issues and the DA's office.  Click HERE to RSVP
