IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!

j0439305.jpgIn Matter of Chandel B. v. Beverly O., after the New York County Family Court ended a mother's parental rights, she appealed to the Appellate Division, First Department.

While the lady had made progress in parenting skills and domestic violence classes, the AD1 was of the view termination remainedl in the children's "best interests."

Apparenty, the mom continued to live in an abusive relationship with the children's father and, for years, hadn't been able to care for the youngsters' needs or provide them with a stable home. Moreover, she had stopped taking her medication and sparingingly visited the children.

Since a great aunt had provided the kids with a suitable environment for over five years and had fostered a good relationship with them, the AD1 saw no reason to disturb the outcome.

What's the matter here?
