Honorees: Jessica Neuwirth, president and founder of Equality Now, and Taina Bien-Aime, executive director of Equality Now
Jessica Neuwirth has devoted her life to the advancement and protection of women's rights worldwide - from taking on the U.S. sex tourism trade and trafficking in humans on a global basis to serving as an expert consultant to the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda on issues of sexual violence. Ms. Neuwirth holds a JD from Harvard Law School and BA from Yale University. Ms. Bien-Aimé holds a JD from the NYU School of Law and a Licence in Political Science from the University of Geneva/Graduate School of International Studies, Switzerland. She joined Equality Now as its general counsel and became its executive director in 2001. She previously practiced international corporate law at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.
