BEWARE OF THIS DOG

In Muller v. Boyd, Christine Muller sued Gregory Boyd after being bitten by his German Shepherd.

Muller was visiting Boyd's home when, after trying to pet the animal, the dog bit her on the lips.

At trial, Boyd acknowledged other incidents involving the dog's misconduct, including an attack which caused a child to be hospitalized.

Boyd maintained he adopted "the dog for the protection of his then-fiance" and the animal had been trained to ward off "intruders." Boyd also alleged visitors were warned of the animal's ornery disposition by way of a "Beware of Dog" sign conspicuously posted on his property.

When an Orange County Supreme Court jury found against Muller, she appealed to the Appellate Division, Second Department, which concluded the dog had "vicious propensities" and the jury's verdict wasn't "based on a fair interpretation of the evidence."

This is one pooch that could have used a little Charm School.
