Why is a Brooklyn guy raising $$ in Manhattan? Not enough local support?
The big names on his committee don't mean a thing if he can't get the support of local leaders.

Duh!
He was Clarence Norman's defense lawyer, so maybe he knows a couple of people in Brooklyn.

BTW, Brooklyn is the borough across the East River from Manhattan. This map shows you how to get there.

No need to rude and obnoxious.
If this guy is so politically connected with the Brooklyn bosses, what does he need Manhattan money for smart-ass?

You're assuming all of the attendees will be Manhattan residents. Buy a ticket, attend the event, poll the attendees and report back.
