GIOIA IS HAVING A BEACH PARTY!
City Councilmember Eric Gioia is having a beach-themed fundraiser on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 5 PM.
You'll find him and his supporters "hanging ten" at Long Island City's Water Taxi Beach.
Suggested contribution: "Give what you can."
(But: BYOBT)
Here's what you need to know:

The text of the e-mail which accompanied the invitation follows:
Please join us on Wednesday, July 2nd, from 5 to 8 pm. It's Eric's 3rd annual Beach Party at Long Island City's Water Taxi Beach.
The beach is kid-friendly, so bring the entire family along to celebrate summer with friends and neighbors, a hot dog, a cool drink, and an unmatchable setting.
Like Eric's other events, it's pay what you can, even if it's just $10. We hope you'll be able to make it, and please help us spread the word by forwarding this email widely - as part of our green campaign, there are no paper invites.
The invite is below and you can RSVP by calling 212.370.0700, emailing teamgioia@ericgioia.com, or by visiting www.ericgioia.com.
Also, please take a moment to check out this great profile of Eric in this month's City Hall News! Take a trip down memory lane with him as he reminisces about growing up in Woodside, Queens, advocating for more school space as a 5th grader, and meeting Mookie Wilson during the 1981 baseball strike.
See you next Wednesday,
Team Gioia
