THREE PARKS GOES FOR NORA
Here's a report we received from our political correspondent, Alan Flacks.
ANDERSON WINS CLUB ENDORSEMENT FOR SURROGATE
Surrogate practitioner Nora Anderson won a Democratic Party club’s endorsement for a New York County Surrogate seat being vacated by Renee Roth at year’s end.
Last night (14th May, 2008) at the Three Parks Independent Democrats endorsement meeting on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, with just over 100 voting members present, Anderson beat out two other candidates -- Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling (who was supported by the club’s present and former leadership) and John Reddy, an attorney in the Public Administrator’s Office.
The vote follows:
Anderson…...........….063
Tingling..…............…039 Reddy................……002
No Endorsement…..…007

While Judge Tingling is favored to win the Surrogate's Court slot, this endorsement reinforces that the campaign ain't going to be a walk in the park.

I would have thought a sitting Supreme Court Justice, who has served our county with distinction, would have done a whole lot better.
Three Parks is filled with lefties and ungrounded individuals. That 63 people were comfortable going with a lawyer with no judicial experience, proves it.
I question the club's motivation and I think they're pretty pathetic.
Luckily, in the bigger scheme, this insignificant club's endorsement won't mean a thing.

You're the ungrounded one, lady.
Tingling has no real Trusts & Estates background, while the other candidates do. (I think Tingling was in a Traffic Part or something like that.)
Tingling also has the taint of County Democratic politics.
No one wants a Surrogate beholding to Denny Farrell and his evil cronies.
Like Obama and Rev. Wright, Tingling needs to find a way to disassociate from Farrell and the County Dems.
Tingling is a good man, but he is going to need to perform a miracle here. He is going to have to find a moral high ground and credibly advocate for change if wants to have a prayer at winning this thing.

Poppycock!
Here's what Flacks failed to report. In the last few days, Tingling picked up the County endorsement with 141 votes, 12 for Reddy and 3 for Nora. (Quite a spread.)
Tingling also picked up endorsements from the Chelsea Reform Democratic Club and UDO.
This IS going to be a walk in the park for Justice (soon to be Surrogate) Tingling!

It is clear to me that Reddy doesn't have the backing or the momentum. So expect him to be out of this race with due dispatch.
Nora is a lightweight, a flash in the pan -- a former flight attendant -- who will serve the people of New York County peanuts as Surrogate.

I hear the lawyers sponsoring this blog support Tingling.
If that's the case, why are they giving the insurgents a forum to spew anti-County, anti-Tingling hatred?
Enemies must be silenced!

That wouldn't be very Democratic ... Or would it?

Like I always say --- the Republicans (insurgents, communists, etc.) are only my enemies on election day.
